In Volume 149, various methods for analyzing print mottle, such as the Standard Method, Specific Perimeter, Bandpass Image Analysis, Modified Coefficient of Variation, and Integration Model, were discussed. However, none of these methods have been universally recognized as the best approach for print mottle assessment. Additionally, commercially available print mottle analysis tools often show significant discrepancies when compared to visual evaluation by human observers.

To address this issue, the Innovation and Product Development Center (IPDC) at SCG Packaging Public Company Limited has conducted research and developed a new print mottle assessment method (IPDC method). This method incorporates print mottle analysis using the PRECISEPRO image analysis software.
